"It`s always an area for concern when young people have health issues. Athletes are often hitting rock bottom before they accept they have an issue. Often in running and sport, it [nutrition and exercise] is all that matters to them and they end up with nothing else in their lives, and are oblivious to the consequences."....

.....For a young woman, over-training and under-eating can lead to chronic fatigue, anaemia, recurring infections and illnesses, depression, eating disorders, inability to gain or build muscle, absent or irregular menstrual cycles, stress fractures and bone injuries, decreased muscle strength, gastrointestinal problems and weight loss to a high degree.....
