ESA encourages World Health Organization to reconsider `Gaming Disorder` classification


....The World Health Organization knows that common sense and objective research prove video games are not addictive. And, putting that official label on them recklessly trivializes real mental health issues like depression and social anxiety disorder, which deserve treatment and the full attention of the medical community. We strongly encourage the World Health Organization to reverse direction on its proposed action.....

Bethany`s Notes: In case you missed it the WHO last week officially listed `Gaming Disorder` as an addictive behavior. Although still in the beta draft for the International Classification for Diseases in 2018, I`m interested in your thoughts. Is gaming a sport? They practice intensively, are dedicated and just like any other sport compete all over the world. How would you classify gaming?
